If you have string constants in the sql they are probably the issue.
Example:
Code:
select fld1 from mytable  where fld1 ='string constant here';

What is the NLS (language) setting for your database? Ask your DBA. Your environment running the script and the characters in it - both need to match or be at least compatible with that db language setting.

The locale is your friend here.

Hi, I have small script written in korn shell. When it is called from different script, its dumping core, but no core dump when we run it standalone. What is the difference executing a script with . in the front versus not putting a "."
