I can't edit a txt file shared from Windows Server to Solaris
Hello, I'm working with Solaris and I need to share files between Windows Server 2012 and Solaris through an authentication with an Active Directory user, where Windows Server is the "main server". All was going good, until after see the WS files and I tried to open one and modify it, but I cannot modify the file, I'm ensure the folder where the file is located have read/write licences from WS. I was thinking that is some like a firewall or some protection that Solaris have 'cause I can take the file off from its folder (within Solaris), move it to the Desktop and when I try to open the file, a dialog box is displayed and says something like "do you want execute this file or open it whith Gedit?" when the file is only a .txt file, so I think Solaris identify the file as a executable file and try to defed itself from that file.
So I'm wondering if someone knows what happen whit it and how can I solve the trouble?
Here are screenshots about it that I hope make clear the question:
Hi!
A windows user going UNIX on part time, oh no?!!
So my question is how I edit and save documents in UNIX? In DOS you can type 'edit x.txt' to both create a new file and edit a file that already exists. How do I do this in Unix? (2 Replies)
What I want to do is just delete some lines from a text file, I know it's easy using copy and redirect function, but what I have to do is edit this file (delete the lines) directly, as new lines may be added to the text file during this period. Can AIX do this ?
# cat text

crypto_certs(4) File Formats crypto_certs(4)NAME
crypto_certs - directory for certificate files for Solaris Cryptographic Framework
SYNOPSIS
/etc/crypto/certs/CA
/etc/crypto/certs/SUNWobjectCA
/etc/crypto/certs/*
DESCRIPTION
The /etc/crypto/certs directory contains ASN.1 BER or PEM encoded certificate files for use by the Solaris Cryptographic Framework.
A default installation contains root anchors and signing certificates. The CA and SUNWobjectCA certificates are the trust anchors for all
other certificates. Other certificates contain the certificates used to sign and verify the Solaris user and kernel cryptographic plug-ins
Additional signing certificates may be installed by third-party cryptographic providers. They should either be copied to /etc/crypto/certs
or included in the package that delivers the provider.
Only certificates that are issued by the CA or SUNWobjectCA certificates and include the organization unit "Solaris Cryptographic Frame-
work" in their subject distinguished names are accepted by the Solaris Cryptographic Framework. This restriction is in place due to US
Export Law on the export of open cryptographic interfaces at the time of shipping this revision of the product.
