If you are deleting files and not directories, then you want to use -type f not d. The first line will return the files found. The second will find and delete the files that you want. You can also try the third line to get the number of files found.

A program to rapidly identify which genotypes are possible for individuals typed as unknowns in the input pedigree.
unknown [ -cl ]
DESCRIPTION
unknown infers possible genotypes and mating combinations for parents with unknown genotypes for ilink(1), mlink(1) and linkmap(1).
OPTIONS -c Use conditional allele frequencies.
