I have 4 gigabit Ethernet adapters, the embedded ones that come with the P710.
I am using only one of them. as I said I am able to ftp at 125MB/s from RHEL6 to AIX, same network,same card, just the iscsi protocol seems to have bottleneck somewhere...
the CPU activity is almost 99% idle. I have plenty of RAM.

i have a a1000 connected to an e6500. There's a raid 10 (12 disks) on the a1000.
If i do a
dd if=/dev/zero of=/mnt/1 bs=1024k count=1000
and then look at iostat it tells me there's a kw/s of 25000.
But if i do a
dd of=/dev/zero if=/mnt/1 bs=1024k count=1000

NAME
udav -- Davicom DM9601 USB Ethernet driver
SYNOPSIS
To compile this driver into the kernel, place the following lines in your kernel configuration file:
device ehci
device uhci
device ohci
device usb
device miibus
device udav
Alternatively, to load the driver as a module at boot time, place the following line in loader.conf(5):
if_udav_load="YES"
HARDWARE
The udav driver supports the following adapters:
o Corega FEther USB-TXC
o ShanTou ST268 USB NIC
DESCRIPTION
The udav driver provides support for USB Ethernet adapters based on the Davicom DM9601 chipset.
For more information on configuring this device, see ifconfig(8).
