there are 2 Volume of DDS4 tape for the mksysb backup
when I restored to 2x146GB HDD, it failed with Out of Space
but when I restored to 4x146GB HDD, it will prompt for Volume 2 but still encounter an error message - Media Surface Error and Out of Space
can some exper please kindly help.

Can before and after snapshots be used to verify successful filesystem restoration?
snapshots will be created using fssnaps and restoration is thru legato restore?
Any ideas on this? or any other ways I could verify that restoration is good?

NAME
volmgt_running - return whether or not Volume Management is running
SYNOPSIS
cc [ flag ... ] file ... -lvolmgt [ library ... ]

int volmgt_running(void);
DESCRIPTION
volmgt_running() tells whether or not Volume Management is running.
RETURN VALUES
A non-zero value is returned if Volume Management is running, else 0 is returned.
ERRORS
volmgt_running() will fail, returning 0, if a stat(2) or open(2) of /dev/volctl fails, or if any of the following is true:
ENXIO Volume Management is not running.
EINTR An interrupt signal was detected while checking to see if Volume Management was running.
EXAMPLES
Example 1: Using volmgt_running()
To see if Volume Management is running:
