I have a ksh shell by default, so when I login to my unix box, all my .profile statements gets executed(including the aliases).
But for some reasons(may be not comfortable using ksh), I would always switch to BASH(in the same session but as a child process) but in the process I am... (16 Replies)

Hi,
I put the necessary tftp commands into a batch file and I can run tftp by
$ tftp < tftpbatchscript
in bash command line and then successfully exit.
Now, I want to put a line which does the same thing above. However, when I put this line into a bash script, the lines below this line... (1 Reply)

init mode means if any user pass kernel parameter at grub i.e init=/bin/bash
then bash shell appears

SYNOPSIS

DESCRIPTION
The aic driver provides support for the Adaptec AIC-6260 and AIC-6360 SCSI controller chips. Many systems that use these controller chips do
not have a boot ROM and therefore cannot be booted from.

BUGS
The driver does not work well with multiple devices on the SCSI bus. The driver works well with devices like CDROMs and Tape drives. The
driver works not so well with disk drives. The PC Card version appears to work better than the ISA version, but that may be due to differing
levels of testing of the devices.
