How to install CPAN without using yum on Linux?

Thank you TioTony. I tried it in home directory for root but it gave error that a required perl module for CPAN (CPAN::Meta::Requirements) is missing 
I think I'll just wait until RHN is resolved as trying to get CPAN::Meta::Requirements without CPAN is additional pain.

howto specify CPAN to install a determined version of the module ?
In my case i want to install DBD:Oracle1.14 and not version 1.23 proposed !

Hi i was trying to install Text::CSV from cpan... it seemed to have downloaded everythign properly but was not able to run the make file...
do u have any idea as to why this happened??

Hi,
working on CentOS 5.7 64 bit. I need to install syslog-ng. First I downloaded syslog-ng RPM. When I install I get many dependencies error messages.

Hi,
I am unable to install module using cpan. It says 407 Proxy Authentication Required
I did setup proxy server and given username and password in .bashrc file and apt.conf file.
export http_proxy=http://username:password@proxyserver:portno/

I have downloaded RHEV-H 4.2 Red Hat Virtualization - Red Hat Customer Portal (RHVirtualization 4.2 Host and Manager iso). I uploaded the image and installed on an HP G9 server baremetal.

yum-langpacks - Plugin for yum SYNOPSIS
yum [command] [package ...] DESCRIPTION
yum-langpacks is a plugin for yum to install language packs. This plugin allows user various commands. command is one of: * langavailable [language1] [language2] [...] * langinfo [language1] [language2] [...] * langinstall [language1] [language2] [...] * langlist [language1] [language2] [...] * langremove [language1] [language2] [...] langavailable This command allows user to find if language support is available for the given input languages. langinfo This command allows user to check which packages will get installed when the given input language support is installed. langinstall This command allows user to install language packs for the given input languages. langlist This command prints list of the installed languages. langremove This command allows user to remove the installed language packs for a given input languages. EXAMPLES
To check what packages get installed for language codes es_ES, hi_IN and language names Japanese and Portuguese (Brazil). yum langinfo es_ES "Japanese" hi_IN "Portuguese (Brazil)" NOTES
