Apple Updating apps via the Terminal

What's up?
I'm trying to figure out how to update apps via the terminal. i know how to do a software Update via Terminal but i just need to know how to Update the apps. Why would I not update the apps via the app store? Because i want more Freedom than that. These apps that I'm trying to update i can not find on the app store.

Is there a trick to closing a mac terminal with a command? I would think you could just type exit into your terminal but that doesn't work. I also tried quit and close just for the hell of it and that didn't work either. Does anyone know what the command is? (1 Reply)
