What are some solid interview questions I could ask about UNIX and Solaris 10 that would weed a good guy out from a bad?

hello,
first, I'm quite new to solaris.
I've installed solaris 10 basic (item 4 on the install-menue).

For some reason, I have a v240 lying around. I was thinking of connecting it to a 1gbit backbone, but I have no experience with Solaris or Linux whatsoever.

I'm trying to write a script to generate different outputs for different syslogd states.
Is there any difference between "syslogd is enabled" and "syslogd is logging locally"?
