Without knowing which language or what level you are talking about, one all-round favourite of mine for all levels, is still "C Primer Plus" by Stephen Prata (ISBN-13 978-0-321-92842-9). Listed at USD54.99 and has 1037 pages (incl index).
Whether you are a beginner, or just need to refresh your memory on a certain topic, this book is great to have.
