Hello hayreter,

You can try following, you can create a function for same in spite of re-writing a code again and again, which is not a good practice.
Code:
#!/bin/ksh
#!/bin/ksh
function check_test () {
VAL=`awk -F, '...with some condition...' <read_out_file1.dat`
return $VAL
}

A1=check_test
A2=check_test
 
echo $A1","$A2

It has not been tested, but you can give it a try and take it as a startup.
