How to provide password for rsync in shell script?
Hi, i want to call the rsync in a shell script so that i can run it in background by passing the password within script itself. Can any one please let me know how can i provide the password in the shell script itself so that rsync will read the password when promted by the script.
Its very urgent please help.

when I run this from the script, it comes with:

It is not able to pick from the location /var/adm/passwd.txt.

Hello,
I wish to store the password in an rsync script so that when prompted it just enters the password.
I know I can set up passwordless logins, but I have never been able to do this on this particular server so I am resorting to storing the password in the script:

script - make record of a terminal session
SYNOPSIS
script [-a] [filename]
DESCRIPTION
The script utility makes a record of everything printed on your screen. The record is written to filename. If no file name is given, the
record is saved in the file typescript. See WARNINGS.
The script command forks and creates a sub-shell, according to the value of $SHELL, and records the text from this session. The script ends
when the forked shell exits or when Control-d is typed.
OPTIONS
The following option is supported:
-a Appends the session record to filename, rather than overwriting it.
NOTES
script places everything that appears on the screen in filename, including prompts.
