Thanks for the info. All I was interested, to save my time. selecting text and hit ctrl+B is definitely quicker than typing [*b] and [*/b] around it?
Apologies if I am not aware of any other quicker way?
Also, how do you type literal bbcodes? For above, I googled and found a trick of adding non printable chars in the tags. but surely there should be a way?
EDIT : Well that trick didn't work here.
First: The tags to use to surround bold text are
and
without the asterisks.
Second: When you are creating a post, hit the
Go Advanced button, and you get more formatting tools at the top of the editing window. The leftmost three in the 2nd line allow you to select text and hit one button for bold text, one button for italic text, and one button for underlined text. Not quite as easy as ctl-B, ctl-I, or ctl-U (since you have to move the mouse), but at least you don't have to remember the tags.
Hope this helps..

glutspaceballbuttonfunc
glutSpaceballButtonFunc(3GLUT) GLUT glutSpaceballButtonFunc(3GLUT)
NAME
glutSpaceballButtonFunc - sets the Spaceball button callback for the current window.
SYNTAX
void glutSpaceballButtonFunc(void (*func)(int button, int state));
ARGUMENTS
func The new spaceball button callback function.
DESCRIPTION
glutSpaceballButtonFunc sets the Spaceball button callback for the current window. The Spaceball button callback for a window is called
when the window has Spaceball input focus (normally, when the mouse is in the window) and the user generates Spaceball button presses. The
button parameter will be the button number (starting at one). The number of available Spaceball buttons can be determined with glutDe-
viceGet(GLUT_NUM_SPACEBALL_BUTTONS). The state is either GLUT_UP or GLUT_DOWN indicating whether the callback was due to a release or press
respectively.
Registering a Spaceball button callback when a Spaceball device is not available is ineffectual and not an error. In this case, no Space-
ball button callbacks will be generated.
Passing NULL to glutSpaceballButtonFunc disables the generation of Spaceball button callbacks. When a new window is created, no Spaceball
button callback is initially registered.
