i run this script with these small line of codes for debugging purpose.
sfs_pcard_load_file.ksh
and it returned this output:
it looks like the grep command inside the script is also being counted. how do i exclude it? please advise. thank you.

I need to set the value of $7 to zero in case $7 is NULL. I've tried the below command but doesn't work. Any ideas. thanks guys.

I'm working on unix with grep (GNU grep) 2.5.1. I'm going through some of the newer regex syntax using Regular Expression Reference - Advanced Syntax a guide.
ls -aLl /bin | grep "\(x\)"
Which works, just highlights 'x' where ever, when ever.

Here is my grep string to print only the last occurrence, with before and after lines. Note that the tail Argument is sum of B and A args + 1, so that it prints the data of only the last 1 match. print [ -Rnprsu [n]] [arg...]
DESCRIPTION
ksh
The shell output mechanism. With no flags or with flag - or -, the arguments are printed on standard output as described by echo(1).
OPTIONS
The following options are supported:
-n suppresses new-line from being added to the output.
-R
-r (raw mode) ignore the escape conventions of echo. The -R option will print all subsequent arguments and options other than
-n.
-p causes the arguments to be written onto the pipe of the process spawned with |& instead of standard output.
-s causes the arguments to be written onto the history file instead of standard output.
-u [ n ] flag can be used to specify a one digit file descriptor unit number n on which the output will be placed. The default is 1.
EXIT STATUS
The following exit values are returned:
0 Successful operation.
>0 Output file is not open for writing.
