I am trying to install ASE 15.7 on RHEL 5 through VMWARE.
I added the user sybase, group sybase and followed the initial checks
However while trying to run the "./setup" file from the sybase user account, I get the below error:
I have created the sybase account and running this through sybase account
I am trying to install the setup through an iso file uploaded in VMWARE
Kindly let me know what could be wrong here?

Hi,
I am facing problems in installing DBD-Sybase. Makefile.PL runs fine. Don't get any errors while running make. But make test gives many errors as below.
sailfish@st-kvar02 -> perl Makefile.PL
Sybase OpenClient 12.5.1 found.
By default DBD::Sybase 1.05 and later use the 'CHAINED' mode... (0 Replies)
I wanted clarity on the steps to install RHEL 6.0. The steps are as follows:-
1) Download the ISO image from the Red Hat site.
2) Burn it into DVD.
3) Download boot.iso from Red Hat (Is this step required or ISO image can install RHEL 6.0 by itself?)
4) Start installation from DVD.

After checking the dependencies from below command:-
yum deplist gcc
Update:-
Now when I tried to install the very first dependency , it gave the below error, I guess something is wrong with YUM server itself :P

Hi All,
We connected 2 new tape drives to the servers. I am not able to see both HP tape drives in OS level. I am using RHEL 6.2 OS.
I have scanned and rebooted the server but still can't able to find the drives.
Thanks in advance..!!!!

I worked all night on creating an RHEL 7 template customized for our private cloud and almost had it ready. While doing the final part, enabling GDM, I made the blunder of disabling SELINUX. Now I am not able to re-enable or put into permissive mode again. Earlier, when this happened on RHEL 6... (3 Replies)
Hello all, I am having a bit of an issue on my Spacewalk installation. Some amplifying information is that it is Spacewalk 2.3 installed on a RHEL 6 machine and I am attempting to install/update a RHEL 5 channel/repository. I am fairly new to Spacewalk so I am still learning but this is what I... (3 Replies)

SYBASE_SET_MESSAGE_HANDLER(3)SYBASE_SET_MESSAGE_HANDLER(3)sybase_set_message_handler - Sets the handler called when a server message is raisedSYNOPSIS
bool sybase_set_message_handler (callable $handler, [resource $link_identifier])
DESCRIPTION sybase_set_message_handler(3) sets a user function to handle messages generated by the server. You may specify the name of a global func-
tion, or use an array to specify an object reference and a method name.
PARAMETERS
o $handler
- The handler expects five arguments in the following order: message number, severity, state, line number and description. The
first four are integers. The last is a string. If the function returns FALSE, PHP generates an ordinary error message.
o $link_identifier
- If the link identifier isn't specified, the last opened link is assumed.
RETURN VALUES
Returns TRUE on success or FALSE on failure.
EXAMPLES
Example #1
sybase_set_message_handler(3) callback function
<?php
function msg_handler($msgnumber, $severity, $state, $line, $text)
{
var_dump($msgnumber, $severity, $state, $line, $text);
}
sybase_set_message_handler('msg_handler');
?>
Example #2
sybase_set_message_handler(3) callback to a class
<?php
class Sybase {
function handler($msgnumber, $severity, $state, $line, $text)
{
var_dump($msgnumber, $severity, $state, $line, $text);
}
}
$sybase= new Sybase();
sybase_set_message_handler(array($sybase, 'handler'));
?>
Example #3
sybase_set_message_handler(3) unhandled messages
<?php
// Return FALSE from this function to indicate you can't handle
// this. The error is printed out as a warning, the way you're used
// to it if there is no handler installed.
function msg_handler($msgnumber, $severity, $state, $line, $text)
{
if (257 == $msgnumber) {
return false;
}
var_dump($msgnumber, $severity, $state, $line, $text);
}
sybase_set_message_handler('msg_handler');
?>
NOTES
Note
This function is only available when using the CT library interface to Sybase, and not with the DB library.
