Where can I change this $_SERVER["DOCUMENT_ROOT"] directive?

what should be the permissions of the folder var/www in my ubuntu ? I need it to be safe and at the same time I need ftp users to be able to edit it. Bio::Graphics::Glyph::toomany - The "too many to show" glyph SYNOPSIS
See L<Bio::Graphics::Panel> and L<Bio::Graphics::Glyph>. DESCRIPTION
This glyph is intended for features that are too dense to show properly. Mostly a placeholder, it currently shows a filled oval. If you choose a bump of 0, the ovals will overlap, to give a cloud effect. OPTIONS There are no glyph-specific options. BUGS
