Are you saying that you can create & mount /mkcd/cd_fs and /mkcd/cd_images in advance in a volume group of your choosing if there is not enough space in rootvg?

I've never tried it, but I presume that you need approximately 25% extra in each from the size of your mksysb image, hence with mine at just over 2Gb means it creates two 2.5Gb temporary filesystems.


If you can confirm this, that's great.

I do try to keep rootvg clear, but sometimes you get stuck or inherit something that would make it a problem.
