I have a file curve.csv which is generated from oracle and each line has a comment associated with it, I want to get rid of this comment, can you please suggest me a command as how to do it
Eg,
the output that I want it
there is no requirement for comment, can you please suggest?
Thanks
i need to use sed to remove an entire line containing a pattern stored in a variable say $var1
this var1 will be a URL and will therefore contain slashes
any help would be greatly appreciated (1 Reply)
I have a file that will sometimes contain a pattern. The pattern is this:
W/D FRM CHK 00
I want to find any lines with this pattern, delete those lines, and also delete the line above and the line below. (1 Reply)
I am trying to delete a pattern without removing line. I searched a lot in this forum and using those I could come up with sed command but it seems that command does not work. Here's how my file looks like:
1 ./63990 7
1171 ./63990 2
2425 ./63990 9
2539 ./63990 1
3125 ./63990 1

Hi,
I want to remove the spaces from all the lines matching a particular pattern from my file. For instance in file abc.txt I have following data.
Header,This is the header
111,this is 1st record
222, this is 2nd record
333, this is 3rd record
Footer,3 records found
Footer,111222333 ... (5 Replies)
Hi Everybody! First post! Totally noobie.
I'm using the terminal to read a poorly formatted book.
The text file contains, in the middle of paragraphs, hyphenation to split words that are supposed to be on multiple pages. It looks ve -- ry much like this.
I was hoping to use grep -v " -- "... (5 Replies)
I am trying to combine lines with these conditions:
1. First line starts with text of "libname VALUE db2 datasrc" where VALUE can be any text.
2. If condition1 is met then continue to combine lines through a line that ends with a semicolon.
3. Ignore case when matching patterns and remove any... (5 Replies)

gluBeginCurve, gluEndCurve - delimit a NURBS curve definition
C SPECIFICATION
void gluBeginCurve( GLUnurbs* nurb )
void gluEndCurve( GLUnurbs* nurb )
PARAMETERS
nurb Specifies the NURBS object (created with gluNewNurbsRenderer).
DESCRIPTION
Use gluBeginCurve to mark the beginning of a NURBS curve definition. After calling gluBeginCurve, make one or more calls to gluNurbsCurve
to define the attributes of the curve. Exactly one of the calls to gluNurbsCurve must have a curve type of GL_MAP1_VERTEX_3 or
GL_MAP1_VERTEX_4. To mark the end of the NURBS curve definition, call gluEndCurve.
GL evaluators are used to render the NURBS curve as a series of line segments. Evaluator state is preserved during rendering with
glPushAttrib(GL_EVAL_BIT) and glPopAttrib(). See the glPushAttrib reference page for details on exactly what state these calls preserve.
EXAMPLE
The following commands render a textured NURBS curve with normals; texture coordinates and normals are also specified as NURBS curves:
gluBeginCurve(nobj);
gluNurbsCurve(nobj, ..., GL_MAP1_TEXTURE_COORD_2);
gluNurbsCurve(nobj, ..., GL_MAP1_NORMAL);
gluNurbsCurve(nobj, ..., GL_MAP1_VERTEX_4); gluEndCurve(nobj);
