It depends how you have cabled things up. Can you tell us:-
  • Which port of the HMC did you plug the cable into?
  • What did you define this as on the HMC (it will offer it's own DHCP by default I think)
  • Which port(s) of the 9115-505 (p505) did you plug into the router?
  • What are the p505 ports defined as?
It also might depend on what the previous owner did and if the server has been set back to the original configuration.


What more can you tell us about these HMC and p505?
