I have seen some log files where they have captured the command that is being executed, comments present in the scripts and the out put of the command as well, through scripts. could any one of you please let me know how do i do that?

Ladies, Gents,
I am fairly new to this game but I am having trouble making the above command work.
If I login as root and go to terminal session "whoami" works.
If I login as admin open a terminal session and "su root" the "whoami" command comes up with " Not recognised".
Any ideas?

So I recently found out that someone is secretly accessing my files due to my mistake. Of course, now, I changed all the permission so people cannot access my file(s) anymore.

Hi,
my desired output needs only that has *.pdf
ls -l *.pdf
error: arg list too long
so I have redirected ls -l > file.txt
therefore, I get the following details in the file
-rw-r--r-- 1 devusr devgrp 848015 Aug 11 15:13 0000795769.pdf

I was following a tutorial on installing Homebrew and I changed the ownership of /usr/local/ to me. Now McAfee Security won't start This is the exact line I typed:
sudo chown -R `whoami` /usr/local
Then I tried to fix it with:
sudo chown -R root /usr/local

NAME
atok12mngtool - Administrates ATOK12 user information
SYNOPSIS
/usr/sbin/atok12mngtool
AVAILABILITY
JSatsvu
DESCRIPTION
The atok12mngtool command provides ATOK12 user information administration operations. This utility needs to be executed by superuser, and
multiple processes cannot run simultaneously.
When invoked, atok12mngtool enters its command interpreter and awaits instructions from the user. When atok12mngtool is awaiting commands
from the user, it displays the prompt Command>.
OPTIONS
The following options may be specified to the command interpreter:
a Adds (registers) a user with a specified name. Usually you do not need to use this option because any user who attempts to
use ATOK12 will be registered automatically.
d Deletes (Unregisters) a user with a specified name.
l Lists names of users who have been registered to use ATOK12. atok12mngtool starts printing user information after all user
information has been processed. A plus symbol ('+') will be printed every after 100 users are processed.
q Quits this utility.
EXIT STATUS
The following exit values are returned:
0 Successful completion.
>0 An error occurred.
