So you installed Debian. 32 bit or 64 bit?
You are using Ubuntu Live USB to attempt Grub install. 32 bit or 64 bit?
Have you seen this:
Debian: switch to UEFI boot - Tanguy Ortolo
It seems to say that the Debian install won't install Grub and that you have to do it yourself.

Hi, I installed solaris 10 a few weeks ago. It was working fine during the past two weeks. However, now when I start to load to the drive, I get this problem:

Hi,
I am trying to install the linux boot loader (GRUB) on a non-linux machine (Unixware 7.1.1). The thing is I want to boot the linux kernel (vmlinuz) and the linux ram disk (initrd.img) from unixware and boot the machine with it. Does anyone have a good way to do this? (10 Replies)

step1: format the flash drive as FAT in winXP.
step2: in fedora12, mount the flash drive on /media/flash

NAME
sam2p_pdf_scale - scale a PDF file from sam2p to a given page size
SYNOPSIS
sam2p_pdf_scale {page_width} {page_height} {input.pdf} [output.pdf]
DESCRIPTION
This manual page documents briefly the sam2p_pdf_scale command. It was written for the Debian distribution because the original program
does not have a manual page.
sam2p_pdf_scale reads a PDF file and scales it so that it fits into the given page size, adding margins when needed to keep its aspect
ratio.
OPTIONS
page_width
Page width, in points (1pt = 1/72in).
page_height
Page height, in points.
input.pdf
Input file.
output.pdf
Output file. By default, the input file is replaced.
