I am required to arrange columns of a file i.e make the 15th column into the 1st column.
I am doing
awk 'begin {fs=ofs=","} {print $15,$1,$2,$3,$4,$5,$6,$7,$8,$9,$10,$11,$12,$13,$14}' ad.data>ad.csv

I have a large csv file where there are four types of rows I need to merge into one row per person, where there is a column for each possible code / type of row, even if that code/row isn't there for that person.

igawk [ all gawk options ] [ -- ] program-text file ...
DESCRIPTION
Igawk is a simple shell script that adds the ability to have ``include files'' to gawk(1).
AWK programs for igawk are the same as for gawk, except that, in addition, you may have lines like
@include getopt.awk
in your program to include the file getopt.awk from either the current directory or one of the other directories in the search path.
OPTIONS
See gawk(1) for a full description of the AWK language and the options that gawk supports.
EXAMPLES
cat << EOF > test.awk
