If you want to use a flash-based or html-based player you must use the format it supports. You could also use plain <embed> tags and depend on the user to have a supporting player but you will still run into the same problem -- not everyone has every codec in the universe.

I created a mediawiki page and it was completely working and I had multiple pages within it.
