I got the script working but i have one last thing...
i am trying to look for a particular word in a logfile while its getting update and when it finds it i want it to run second script...can you help?
Above command is not working for some reason...any thoughts??
also to run the script in background...but when i use nohup myscript.sh .... i doesnt run in background but stays there untill i hit control c.... am i missing something here?

I had a doubt if any services need to be restarted if port no in /etc/services in an RHEL setup is changed. For eg, the port no of 443 for SSL may need to be changed.

DESCRIPTION
The script utility makes a record of everything printed on your screen. The record is written to filename. If no file name is given, the
record is saved in the file typescript. See WARNINGS.
The script command forks and creates a sub-shell, according to the value of $SHELL, and records the text from this session. The script ends
when the forked shell exits or when Control-d is typed.
OPTIONS
The following option is supported:
-a Appends the session record to filename, rather than overwriting it.
