I need to convert a password protected excel file which will be in UNIX server to a comma separated file. For this I need to open the excel file in UNIX box but the UNIX box doesn't prompt for password instead it is opened in an encrypted manner.

I am using the attached script to convert a input file delimited by '|' to excel.
However, while processing the attribute change_reason, the whole content of the text under change_reason is not displayed completely in the cell in excel. It is truncated after only first few words.... (1 Reply)

py_xls2txt - convert an Excel xls file to a plain text file
SYNOPSIS
py_xls2txt input-file
DESCRIPTION
This manual page was written for the Debian distribution because the original program does not have a manual page.
py_xls2txt takes an Excel xls file as an argument and converts it to a plain text file. Output is sent to stdout.
Additional utility scripts can be found in the tools/ directory.
OPTIONS
This program does not take any command line options.
