Help in awk
Guys,
I have a requirement as below.
I need to ping one server and check if its up or down based on the ping results.
for example,
HTML Code:
ping sample2013
Result:
HTML Code:
64 bytes from 161.166.121.31: icmp_seq=0. time=0. ms
64 bytes from 161.166.121.31: icmp_seq=0. time=0. ms
64 bytes from 161.166.121.31: icmp_seq=0. time=0. ms
64 bytes from 161.166.121.31: icmp_seq=0. time=0. ms
64 bytes from 161.166.121.31: icmp_seq=0. time=0. ms
(Here i am giving ctrl+c)
16 packets transmitted, 16 packets received, 0% packet loss
round-trip (ms) min/avg/max = 0/0/3
if i give ctrl +c on pingsample2013 command, it will give the ping statistics, where we will have transmitted and received packages information.
Now i want to cut this using awk and store in a variable.
Any help would be appreciated.
