Wrench Greping the string from a log

Hi Folks,

I am searching something in multiple logs , actually an even ocuurs which get recorded in logs with a special word so rite now I am opening an individual log in vi and then searching it but total in the directory there are such 15 logs and it is very difficult to go one by one so please advise how can I use the power of grep with case insensitive search let say the directory is

/opt/dfgr/logs

which contain 17 different log and I want to search the string started app it mite bhi in all logs or in few logs , but I want to do case insenetive search please advise

Hi, I have a csv ( comma seperated value) file and I want to search for a particular string in each line of that file only if it occurs only once in the line. Greping in between two different lines.

I know you could use the grep "something" -A200 flag to get all the lines past your pattern. Is there a way to get all the lines in between two patterns? The -a flag will not work since all lines in between the two patterns don't have a constant number. (4 Replies)

getbuildlog - download build logs from Debian auto-builders SYNOPSIS
getbuildlog package [version-pattern] [architecture-pattern] DESCRIPTION
getbuildlog downloads build logs of package from Debian auto-builders. It downloads build logs of all versions and for all architectures if version-pattern and architecture-pattern are not specified or empty, otherwise only build logs whose versions match version-pattern and build logs whose architectures match architecture-pattern will be downloaded. The version and architecture patterns are interpreted as extended regular expressions as described in grep(1). If version-pattern is "last" then only the logs for the most recent version of package found on buildd.debian.org will be downloaded. If version-pattern is "last-all" then the logs for the most recent version found on each build log index will be downloaded. OPTIONS
-h, --help Show usage information and examples. -V, --version Show version and copyright information. EXAMPLES
