Logrotate.conf

Well, I've only had experience of AIX up to 6.1.8.2 (from 3.2 onwards 
) and so far, they have all used the same syslogd daemon rather than what I now have on Linux, the rsyslogd daemon, so I'm a bit confused. 
If you are using syslogd, can you post the content of /etc/syslog.conf as the configuration for size/rotation is controlled within there.
If you have AIX 7, then perhaps that has changed to the daft rsyslogd which requires this (usually) cron based log rotator.
Can you confirm which is running?

After the installation of rpm, I don't find /etc/logrotate.conf file and /etc/logrotate.d dir .
The config file is located in /opt/freeware/etc/logrotate.conf.

I've installed Solaris 11.3(live media) and configured DNS. Everytime I reboot the server, resolv.conf got deleted and it created a new nsswitch.conf.
I used below to configure both settings:

syslog-ng, syslogd DESCRIPTION
There are different syslog daemon implementations supported as the system's syslog service, currently syslogd, syslog-ng and rsyslogd The first installed daemon activates itself for the syslog service. Starting with openSUSE-11.2, it is rsyslogd, before it was syslog-ng. But this depends on the software selection during the installation. The name of the daemon used as syslog service is specified in the SYSLOG_DAEMON variable in /etc/sysconfig/syslog. The yast2 sysconfig module provides a comfortable way to switch to another installed daemon and restart the service. The /etc/init.d/syslog init script is able to handle all supported daemons. BUGS
