The only way to get the right serial number is to look at the server. I mean read off the of the physical server. The command line will not give you the right info unless it was set. As a matter of fact we can set the serial number to anything you want, on the command line or GUI. I have to find serial numbers all the time for our equipment and I found that this is the only reliable way.

I am trying to install solaris 9 on E2900 that is connect to a 3320 SCSI storage , The issue is that i want to have the SCSI disks(3320) to start with controllers 1 and 2 ( c1t0 ....c2t0) and my 2 local disks on c3 and c4 .

gnutls_x509_crt_get_serial - This function returns the certificate's serial number
SYNOPSIS

int gnutls_x509_crt_get_serial(gnutls_x509_crt_t cert, void * result, size_t * result_size);
ARGUMENTS
gnutls_x509_crt_t cert
should contain a gnutls_x509_crt_t structure
void * result
The place where the serial number will be copied
size_t * result_size
Holds the size of the result field.
DESCRIPTION
This function will return the X.509 certificate's serial number. This is obtained by the X509 Certificate serialNumber field. Serial is
not always a 32 or 64bit number. Some CAs use large serial numbers, thus it may be wise to handle it as something opaque.
RETURNS
On success, GNUTLS_E_SUCCESS is returned, otherwise a negative error value.and a negative value in case of an error.
