Awk, highest and lowest value of a column

Hi again!
I am still impressed how fast I get a solution for my topic "average specific column value awk" yesterday.
The associative arrays in awk work fine for me!
But now I have another question for the same project.

Now I have a list like this
Code:
1 -0.1
1 0
1 0.1
2 0
2 0.2
2 -0.2

How can I get the highest(H) and the lowest(h) value of the $2 column addicted to the values of
the $1 columns? My goal is to compute the difference between both and also to summarize all differences,
to get a scalar for an evaluation:

Code:
a,i = (H,i-h,i)/(sum(1-n)[(H,j -h,j)])

e.g.
Code:
a,1= (0.1-(-0.1))/( 0.1-(-0.1) + 0.2-(-0.2)) = 0.2/0.6 = 0.33333..

(In the end I want to evaluate the averages from my last post with these scalars.)

irsend - basic LIRC program to send infra-red commands SYNOPSIS
irsend [options] DIRECTIVE REMOTE CODE [CODE...] DESCRIPTION
Asks the lircd daemon to send one or more CIR (Consumer Infra-Red) commands. This is intended for remote control of electronic devices such as TV boxes, HiFi sets, etc. DIRECTIVE can be: SEND_ONCE - send CODE [CODE ...] once SEND_START - start repeating CODE SEND_STOP - stop repeating CODE LIST - list configured remote items SET_TRANSMITTERS - set transmitters NUM [NUM ...] SIMULATE - simulate IR event REMOTE is the name of a remote, as described in the lircd configuration file. CODE is the name of a remote control key of REMOTE, as it appears in the lircd configuration file. NUM is the transmitter number of the hardware device.
