Hi,
By default FIND command searches for matching files in all the subdirectories within the specified path.
Is there a way to restrict FIND command's search path to only the specified directory and NOT TO scan its subdirectories.
Any help would be more than appreciated.

Hi guys
I'm trying to move an empty directory to the $TRASH directory. Say the directory i have is ./hello/hello1/hello2 and i'm in hello2, and i want hello2 moved.
this code:
TRASH=$home/deleted
find "$TRASH/$1" -type d -exec rmdir { } \; 2>/dev/null
mv -f $1 $TRASH 2>/dev/null

I have a file abcd.txt which has contents in the form of full path file names i.e.
$home> vi abcd.txt
/a/b/c/r1.txt
/q/w/e/r2.txt
/z/x/c/r3.txt
Now I want to retrieve only the directory path name for each row
i.e
/a/b/c/
/q/w/e/

If I enter (simplified):
find . -printf "%p\n"
then all files in the output are prepended by a "." like
./local/share/test23.log
How can achieve that
a.) the leading "./" is omitted
and/or
b.) the full path to the current directory is inserted (enclosed by brackets and a blank)... (1 Reply)

Data::Stream::Bulk::Path::Class - Path::Class::Dir traversal
VERSION

SYNOPSIS
use Data::Stream::Bulk::Path::Class;
my $dir = Data::Stream::Bulk::Path::Class->new(
dir => Path::Class::Dir->new( ... ),
);
DESCRIPTION
This stream produces depth or breadth first traversal order recursion through Path::Class::Dir objects.
Items are read iteratively, and a stack of open directory handles is used to keep track of state.
ATTRIBUTES
chunk_size
Defaults to 250.
depth_first
Chooses between depth first and breadth first traversal order.
only_files
If true only Path::Class::File items will be returned in the output streams (no directories).
METHODS
is_done
Returns true when no more files are left to iterate.
next
Returns the next chunk of Path::Class objects
