The first line in bb.sh should be:
(or #! followed by whatever the absolute path is on your system to bash if it is not /bin/bash).
Run it by using the command:
When you run the script using the command:
you are running the commands in bb.sh as the current user (not making use of the set-UID feature) of the executable.
------------------
PS Note that you need to use chmod 4755 instead of 755 to set the set-UID bit, but it looked like you had already done that.

Aloha,
I'm attempting to use a C program to create directories and then use a system call to have another program write .dat files into that directory. I understand that I could use the "system("mkdir directory_name")" function however, I would like my program to create a new directory each time... (3 Replies)

Hey guys,
Suppose i run passwd via bash shell. It is a suid program, which temporarily runs as root(owner) and modifies the user entries.
However, when i write a C file and give 4755 permission and root ownership to the 'a.out' file , it doesn't run as root in bash shell. I verified this by... (2 Replies)
I had a question in my test which asked where suppose user B has a program with 's' bit set. Can user A run this program and gain root privileges in any way?
I suppose not as the suid program run with privileges of owner and this program will run with B's privileges and not root. (1 Reply)

locale::codes::langext
Locale::Codes::LangExt(3) User Contributed Perl Documentation Locale::Codes::LangExt(3)NAME
Locale::Codes::LangExt - standard codes for language extension identification
SYNOPSIS
use Locale::Codes::LangExt;
$lext = code2langext('acm'); # $lext gets 'Mesopotamian Arabic'
$code = langext2code('Mesopotamian Arabic'); # $code gets 'acm'
@codes = all_langext_codes();
@names = all_langext_names();
DESCRIPTION
The "Locale::Codes::LangExt" module provides access to standard codes used for identifying language extensions, such as those as defined in
the IANA language registry.
Most of the routines take an optional additional argument which specifies the code set to use. If not specified, the default IANA language
registry codes will be used.
SUPPORTED CODE SETS
There are several different code sets you can use for identifying language extensions. A code set may be specified using either a name, or
a constant that is automatically exported by this module.
For example, the two are equivalent:
$lext = code2langext('acm','alpha');
$lext = code2langext('acm',LOCALE_LANGEXT_ALPHA);
The codesets currently supported are:
alpha
This is the set of three-letter (lowercase) codes from the IANA language registry, such as 'acm' for Mesopotamian Arabic.
This is the default code set.

Locale::Codes::LangExt::add_langext_code_alias ( CODE ,NEW_CODE [,CODESET] )

These routines are all documented in the Locale::Codes::API man page.
