Not sure what you mean by "prompting for new" items. You can configure all named items when setting up the machine, or when logged in as root, or, you can use bootp/DHCP services to have the machine configure itself during boot time (except the host name, not sure).
If you "copied" a virtual machine, and want to configure the new one manually lest it resemble the old one, you need to run it standalone, i.e. without network access, for the first time to arrange for the parameters.

I am having a problem after modifying the modprobe.conf. I added a few entries for the HBA drivers. When I noticed that it would not boot after this, I mounted a knoppix disk and removed those lines from the modprobe.conf. Now after removing those lines, it is still stuck at the same... (2 Replies)

1) rmmod module, make changes and modprobe module

USAGE
You can perform the following tasks using dhcpmgr:
Configure DHCP service
Use dhcpmgr to configure the DHCP daemon as a DHCP server, and select the data store to use for storing network configuration tables..
Configure BOOTP relay service
Use dhcpmgr to configure the DHCP daemon as a BOOTP relay.
Manage DHCP or BOOTP relay service
Use dhcpmgr to start, stop, enable, disable or unconfigure the DHCP service or BOOTP relay service, or change DHCP server parameters.
Manage DHCP addresses
Use dhcpmgr to add, modify, or delete IP addresses leased by the DHCP service.
Manage DHCP macros
Use dhcpmgr to add, modify or delete macros used to supply configuration parameters to DHCP clients.
Manage DHCP options
Use dhcpmgr to add, modify or delete options used to define parameters deliverable through DHCP.
Convert to a new DHCP data store
