Bad exchange descriptor : not able to remove files under zpool
Hi ,
One of my zone went down and when i booted it up i could see the pool in degraded state with some check sum errors . we have brought the pool online after scrubbing. But few files are showing this error
Ok, I'm sure this is a total newbie question, but I think I'm in the right place, no?
I'm trying to call a perl module from a cgi script - Mail::Sendmail - and my web host installed the module in a directory that doesn't seem to be accessible, at least not the way I'm trying. But I thought you... (1 Reply)

Hi All
I have a dedicated backup server running ubuntu 10.04, which has recently been rebuilt (same OS, just different h/w)
This is used to receive ufsdump output from a number of Solaris servers, using the following syntax:
ufsdump 1uf :/path/to/backup/file /fs/to/be/backed/up
This has... (1 Reply)

I added a disk to a zpool using "zpool add diskname"
My intention was mirror a zpool disk that no mirror; that is a zpool with only one disk. I did not issue the right command. Now, the disk has been added successfully but I cannot remove nor detach it as Solaris 11 thinks it has data on it... (14 Replies)

zfsloader
ZFSLOADER(8) BSD System Manager's Manual ZFSLOADER(8)NAME
zfsloader -- kernel bootstrapping final stage
DESCRIPTION
zfsloader is an extended variant of loader(8) with added support for booting from ZFS. This document describes only differences from
loader(8).
ZFS FEATURES
zfsloader supports the following format for specifying ZFS filesystems which can be used wherever loader(8) refers to a device specification:
zfs:pool/filesystem:
where pool/filesystem is a ZFS filesystem name as described in zfs(8).
If /etc/fstab does not have an entry for the root filesystem and vfs.root.mountfrom is not set, but currdev refers to a ZFS filesystem, then
zfsloader will instruct kernel to use that filesystem as the root filesystem.
ZFS COMMAND EXTENSIONS
lsdev [-v]
Lists ZFS pools in addition to disks and partitions. Adding -v shows more ZFS pool details in a format that resembles zpool status
output.
lszfs filesystem
A ZFS extended command that can be used to explore the ZFS filesystem hierarchy in a pool. Lists the immediate children of the
filesystem. The filesystem hierarchy is rooted at a filesystem with the same name as the pool.
FILES
/boot/zfsloader zfsloader itself.
EXAMPLES
Set the default device used for loading a kernel from a ZFS filesystem:
set currdev=zfs:tank/ROOT/knowngood:
