Apologies. I'm using a 4GB DAT tape. The Hard drive that I need backed up is a 4GB SCSI drive. It's a really old system.

I have a make_recovery tape, if I restore the VG00 volume group using this, will my other volume groups still be ok after the restore(I have 7 data volume groups)
I used make_recovery -A to create the tape

The TMSCP driver provides a standard tape drive interface, as described in This is a driver for any controller that adheres to the Tape

Mass Storage Control Protocol. This driver also supports n-buffered reads and writes to the raw tape interface (used with streaming tape
