I am having some simple shell script files to build postgresql database and all. Now i want to convert those scripts to dos batch scripts(to run on windows XP/2000/NT) because there is no need of unix emulation for latest release of postgresql. Please somebody help me. (1 Reply)
so i have hundreds of files named history.20071112.tar
(history.YYYYMMDD.tar)
and im looking to extract one file out of each archive called status_YYYYMMDDHH:MM.lis

If I execute the command "ls -l /export/home/abcde/dev/proj/code/* | awk -F' ' '{print $9}' | cut -d'/' -f6-8" it will list all the files in /export/home/abcde/dev/proj/code/ directory as well as the files in subdirectories also

I am using a batch script that ftps the compressed xml files to the Unix environment from the Windows environment and i perform this using the below line of coding:

hi i have a folder full of files. some of the names are quite off because the dimensions were the same and i had to put a 'b' after the initial number so that it didnt overwrite. what i want is a script in unix to overwrite the filwe name leaving some of the title intact, e.g. below are some... Hi.
I want to schedule a job at some directory will several files in it.
But there maybe a situation whereby some of the files at the point of the schedule are still transferring during that time.
So I want to skip those files from being processed.

SYNOPSIS

METHODS
get_new_info
This gets the information required for the new batch screen. Currently this just populates the batch_number hashref value.
create
Saves the batch info and populates the id hashref value with the id inserted.
delete_voucher($id)
Deletes the voucher specified by $id.
get_search_criteria Sets all hash values needed for the search interface:
batch_classes List of all batch classes
batch_users List of all users
get_search_method (private)
Determines the appropriate search method, either for empty, mini, or full searches
Returns the appropriate stored proc name.
get_search_results
Returns the appropriate search as detected by get_search_method.
get_class_id($type)
Returns the class_id of batch class specified by its label.
post
Posts a batch to the books and makes the vouchers show up in transaction reports, financial statements, and more.
delete
Deletes the unapproved batch and all vouchers under it.
list_vouchers Returns a list of all vouchers in the batch and attaches that list to $self->{vouchers}
get Gets the batch and merges information with the current batch object.
