My task is to replace the two 73 G disks with two 143 G disks , which has vxvm 4.1 running on it. I would like to know whether the steps iam following are correct.

Hi all,
we have an existing system that was configured using just one of the (two) internal disks. I want to mirror the disk using SVM, but have realised there is no free slice for creating the metadb's. Is there a workaround I can use for this?

Hello All,
I am trying to mirror two non-root hard drives using zfs. But "fmthard" fails when I try to copy the vtoc due to disk mismatch. Please help me.

Need a procedure document to do "root disk mirroring in solaris volume manager for solaris 10". I hope some one will help me asap. I need to do it production environment.

We have two node cluster with OS disk mirrored under SVM. There is slight disk problem on one of the mirror disk causing cluster to panic.
Failure of one mirror disk causing VCS to panic the node. Why VCS is not able to write /var filesystem, as one of the disk is healthy.

sysdef - output system definition
SYNOPSIS
/usr/sbin/sysdef [-i] [-n namelist]
/usr/sbin/sysdef [-h] [-d] [-i] [-D]
DESCRIPTION
The sysdef utility outputs the current system definition in tabular form. It lists all hardware devices, as well as pseudo devices, system
devices, loadable modules, and the values of selected kernel tunable parameters.
It generates the output by analyzing the named bootable operating system file (namelist) and extracting the configuration information from
it.
The default system namelist is /dev/kmem.
OPTIONS -i Prints the configuration information from /dev/kmem. This is the default and only needs to be specified if the configura-
tion information from both /dev/kmem and the system file specified with the "-n namelist" option is needed.
-nnamelist Specifies a namelist other than the default (/dev/kmem). The namelist specified must be a valid bootable operating system.
-h Prints the identifier of the current host in hexadecimal. This numeric value is unique across all Sun hosts.
-d The output includes the configuration of system peripherals formatted as a device tree.
-D For each system peripheral in the device tree, display the name of the device driver used to manage the peripheral.
