I am trying to run some code on Matlab over ssh . The code takes around 5-6 hours to complete. so after giving the command to run it , I locked my machine and then went off to sleep at night, only to discover in the morning that I get this message :
I tried it again, but again I am getting same problem. After 3-4 hours, in the middle, I am again getting "Write failed: Broken pipe" . This was not happening earlier, when I was running ssh to the server in the same city about 10-15 mins walk from the server from my machine. Now I am in a different country than the server, I know that there is straightforward reason as to why this "Write failed: Broken pipe" is continuously happening, But if someone could point out what can be done to prevent it, that would be highly appreciated.
Hi there,
I try to use:
> find * | ls
but it just gave me one level of ' ls '. and it said:
> find * | ls
dir1 dir2 f1 f2 f3

Hi
I tried to open the man page of sh and piped to `pg`. Normally while reading a file page by page using `pg`, if we wanna quit at the middle of file, we give "q" near the colon mode.
Ex1: $cat file1 | pg

echo new | find .
the standard output of the echo should be "new", then I guess find command will use this output as input to find the file named "new". But the output is all the file names in my current dir, the last line is "echo: write... (5 Replies)

GNOME-SSH-ASKPASS(1) General Commands Manual GNOME-SSH-ASKPASS(1)NAME
gnome-ssh-askpass - prompts a user for a passphrase using GNOME
SYNOPSIS
gnome-ssh-askpass
DESCRIPTION
gnome-ssh-askpass is a GNOME-based passphrase dialog for use with OpenSSH. It is intended to be called by the ssh-add(1) program and not
invoked directly. It allows ssh-add(1) to obtain a passphrase from a user, even if not connected to a terminal (assuming that an X display
is available). This happens automatically in the case where ssh-add is invoked from one's ~/.xsession or as one of the GNOME startup pro-
grams, for example.
In order to be called automatically by ssh-add, gnome-ssh-askpass should be installed as /usr/bin/ssh-askpass.
ENVIRONMENT VARIABLES
The following environment variables are recognized:
GNOME_SSH_ASKPASS_GRAB_SERVER
Causes gnome-ssh-askpass to grab the X server before asking for a passphrase.
GNOME_SSH_ASKPASS_GRAB_POINTER
Causes gnome-ssh-askpass to grab the mouse pointer using gdk_pointer_grab() before asking for a passphrase.
Regardless of whether either of these environment variables is set, gnome-ssh-askpass will grab the keyboard using gdk_keyboard_grab().

This manual page was written by Colin Watson <cjwatson@debian.org> for the Debian system (but may be used by others). It was based on that
