My script needs to crawl the data from a third party site. Currently it is written in wget. The third party site is of shared interface with different IP addresses.
My wget works with all the IP address but not with one. Whereas the curl is able to hit that IP address and comes out with 200 status.
Hence I would like to know why my wget is not working whereas the curl succeeds for the same IP address.
How can i resolve this Problem, i don't want my script to get rewritten with curl. Your help at this moment is so huge, thanks in advance.
It hungs and comes out reaching the timeout.
PS: I have added the Proxy in my ~/.wgetrc file

We are trying to invoke a https service from our unix script using curl command. The service is not getting invoked because it is SSL configured. Bypassing certification (using curl –k) does not work.
curl -k https://site
curl -k -x IP:Port https://site
curl -k -x IP:443 https://id:pwd@site

Hello,

Something similar to editing /etc/hosts but that can be done directly from the command line. I have looked through the man pages... (4 Replies)

i use curl and wget quite often.
i set up alarms on their output. for instance, i would run a "wget" on a url and then search for certain strings within the output given by the "wget".

dh_generate_key
DH_generate_key(3) OpenSSL DH_generate_key(3)NAME
DH_generate_key, DH_compute_key - perform Diffie-Hellman key exchange
SYNOPSIS
#include <openssl/dh.h>
int DH_generate_key(DH *dh);
int DH_compute_key(unsigned char *key, BIGNUM *pub_key, DH *dh);
DESCRIPTION
DH_generate_key() performs the first step of a Diffie-Hellman key exchange by generating private and public DH values. By calling DH_com-
pute_key(), these are combined with the other party's public value to compute the shared key.
DH_generate_key() expects dh to contain the shared parameters dh->p and dh->g. It generates a random private DH value unless dh->priv_key
is already set, and computes the corresponding public value dh->pub_key, which can then be published.
DH_compute_key() computes the shared secret from the private DH value in dh and the other party's public value in pub_key and stores it in
key. key must point to DH_size(dh) bytes of memory.
RETURN VALUES
DH_generate_key() returns 1 on success, 0 otherwise.
DH_compute_key() returns the size of the shared secret on success, -1 on error.
The error codes can be obtained by ERR_get_error(3).

DH_generate_key() and DH_compute_key() are available in all versions of SSLeay and OpenSSL.
