Which Solaris ?
If we are talking about Solaris 10 then it hasn't sudo command. If we are talking about Solaris 11 then RBAC security is on place and sudo command must be in default PATH.
If you installed sudo on Solaris 10 using csw or Solaris 10 companion CD then you must look in /opt/something

Hi all
I have created an alias for a running a script called script.sh as
alias utils="sh ~/script.sh".
Moreover i m using bash shell, even i have given the entry for alias in .profile in my home directory.I have given alias entry in crontab file as

Say I want to give someone access to /example/directory/* where * equals all the sub directories inside of /example/directory

I am running a serverapplication on a HP-UX machine where I need to handle some of the commands as a specified user called "druser".
When I log on as this user with the command;
sudo -u druser -sit starts an instance of the shell as that user.
However, it doesn't load that users .profile from... (1 Reply)
The .profile file should be read when the user logs in. So, there should be no need to execute .profile file again in a cron job (since the cron job is run after the user logs in). Doesn't the cron require login from the user. Then, from where does the cron execute? Please help!! (1 Reply)

SYNOPSIS
suninstall
DESCRIPTION install-solaris(1M) is now the preferred command for starting and restarting the Solaris Installation program. It should be used instead of
suninstall. suninstall is symbolically linked to install-solaris.
suninstall is a forms-based and graphical subsystem for installing the operating system.
suninstall exists only on the Solaris installation media (CD or DVD) and should only be invoked from there. Refer to the Solaris 10 Instal-
lation Guide: Basic Installations for more details.
suninstall allows installation of the operating system onto any standalone system. suninstall loads the software available on the installa-
