How to extract visually blank lines form the file

Hi, Could some one help me to get rid of visually blank lines from a file using shell or awk or sed (on Solaris machine)? When I use grep grep -v ^$ inputfile >outputfile it removes some blank lines.. but it seems some tab plus space balnk lines remains. thaen I used "grep -v '^]*$' ... (1 Reply)

Igawk is a simple shell script that adds the ability to have ``include files'' to gawk(1). AWK programs for igawk are the same as for gawk, except that, in addition, you may have lines like @include getopt.awk in your program to include the file getopt.awk from either the current directory or one of the other directories in the search path.
