vpardbprofile - display, update, or delete virtual partition DB-Profiles SYNOPSIS
db_file] server_ip] client_ip] gateway_ip] subnet_mask] boot_file] optional_data]] | name] | DESCRIPTION
The command displays the that are stored in the virtual partition database. If the virtual partition database is not specified, then the live database, or by default is used. The command with the option, a non-existent DB-Profile name, and another option (such as, will cre- ate a new DB-Profile. The command with the option, a valid DB-Profile name, and another option (such as, will modify that option for the specified DB-Profile. The behavior without any options is to display the currently defined virtual partition DB-Profiles. The purpose of the DB-Profile is to provide a container for holding user specified settings for DirectBoot. DB-Profiles can be used with the command to pass in user specified DirectBoot settings. Refer to the vparboot(1M) manpage This command is not supported on PA-RISC systems. Options and Arguments recognizes the following command line options and arguments: Specifies the alternate database from which the virtual partition DB-Profiles is to be displayed, updated, or deleted. or live is the default if this is not specified. Display/create/modify a DB-Profile. A DB-Profile name can be at most 12 characters long, and spaces are not allowed. If the DB-Profile name already exists, it will be updated with the new values passed as arguments to this command. Specifies the static IP address for the boot server Specifies the static IP address for the client. If the client IP information is missing in the DB-Profile, DHCP will be used by default. Specifies the static IP address for the gateway Specifies the subnet mask for the local network Specifies the absolute path to a bootable file on the boot server. If empty, then it will be assumed that the server controls the boot file for the client. Specifies the optional command line arguments to pass to the boot file Deletes DB-Profile from the database. Displays the usage. Note All IP addresses must be in IPv4 format. If the client IP address is not passed, then a DHCP server will be used to get the client infor- mation. RETURN VALUE
