I am trying to get cpu util and memory occupied for a process. I use these (I am showing output also):
using top

I tried few commands like top -p <PID> ,
but am getting error "Quitting top: pset <PID> doesn't exist"

Can someone please help me with a script that will help in identifying the CPU & memory usage by a process name, rather than a process id.This is to primarily analyze the consumption of resources, for performance tweaking.

rwsnoop - snoop read/write events. Uses DTrace.
SYNOPSIS
rwsnoop [-jPtvZ] [-n name] [-p PID]
DESCRIPTION
This is measuring reads and writes at the application level. This matches the syscalls read, write, pread and pwrite.
Since this uses DTrace, only users with root privileges can run this command.
OPTIONS -j print project ID
-P print parent process ID
-t print timestamp, us
-v print time, string
-Z print zone ID
-n name
process name to track
-p PID PID to track
EXAMPLES
