Hello
I use 2 accounts on a RHEL 5 test server. one account was made when the system was built. The other I made the other day. I use VNC to connect to the server from a windows PC. With the account that was built with the server I can do more stuff with it. Both accounts have the same right as far as I can tell. For the example below I bit as the account built with the system and bitlord as the account I made the other day.
What gives? Both accounts can sudo and su to root. I see most of the issues when I'm using the GUI. In the GUI using, with the bitlord account on, the gnome desktop asks for the root password it then the asked for app never comes up.
Is there a way to easily change an account to be a non login account (NP in the shadow) file?
I know I can just edit the file but that is not what we want to do. We use access control software and want to provide a way to set an account to be non-login using simple commands that can be mapped... (0 Replies)
