I am running a script remotely to another client. after it runs it places the file in /tmp. I need the file in /tmp to be renamed to the local hostname. but when i set the variable it names the file to my local hostname. how do i fix that (4 Replies)

i have below files in wrk folder. file names are

1102100019.CLT
1102100020.CLT
the above files are concatenate to one file but that concatenate file name must be same naming convention. (date +%y%m%d)and 0001 count.

Hi Guys,
Where would i find the list of distribution codes.
For example.
samba-32bit-3.4.2 -1.1.3.1.x8664.rpm
In above rpm file it is indicated that its release is 1.1.3.1 .
The rpm is meant to be run for opensuse.
Where would i get the linking of release number and distribution.

I need this script to check if the first 3 letters of the file name are capital.

Hi
Currently we have nmon running on our Red hat Linux server.
The ouput file is now coming with the naming convention as "servername_160321_0010.nmon".
The output file naming convention has to be changed as "nmon_servername_daily_2016.03.21_00.00.00"

foomatic-kitload - installs a data kit into the foomatic database. SYNOPSIS
foomatic-kitload [ -k kit-dir] [ -d dest-dir]... DESCRIPTION
foomatic-kitload installs a foomatic data kit into the local data library. It takes a -k dirname option, where dirname is the toplevel directory of a foomatic driver "kit". A "kit" is a selection of XML source files arranged exactly as in the source/section of the master database (ie, opt/driver/printer/ subdirs). Gimp-Print's foomatic-generator produces exactly such a kit. Foomatic-kitload is moderately paranoid about kits: the kit must contain at least one of printer, driver or opt; the kit must contain only files ending in .xml, the kit cannot be the local library itself, etc. But it does not inspect the contents of the kit files in any way. Options -k dirname dirname is the toplevel directory of a foomatic driver "kit". -d destdir destdir is a prefix to prepend to the install path. This will not normally be required, but is useful if installing into a tem- porary `staging area' prior to installing in the final destination. EXIT STATUS
foomatic-kitload returns 0 on success, 255 or something else when an error occurs. AUTHOR
