You really cannot pass it to an xml, you will have to rewrite the xml file.
xml files have rule sets on how they are supposed to be formed. Do you know exactly where and exactly what you have to change?

Hi,
I want to input unix variable to sqlplus.The following is working fine
sqlplus username/password @dummy.sql param1 param2 << EOF
create user $1 identified by $2;
EOF
But I dont want any file name to be passed,I just want to pass the parameter. Is there any way to that??

I am writing a script which creates an external table using a shell script. My requirement is like this.
Usage: . ./r.ksh <table_name> - this should create an external table.
e.g . ./r.ksh abc - this should create an external table as abc_external.

Im getting expected output as below:

crm_verify [modifiers] data_source
DESCRIPTION
crm_verify - Check a (complete) confiuration for syntax and common conceptual errors.
Checks the well-formedness of an XML configuration, its conformance to the configured DTD/schema and for the presence of common misconfigu-
rations.
It reports two classes of problems, errors and warnings. Errors must be fixed before the cluster will work properly. However, it is left up
to the administrator to decide if the warnings should also be fixed.

Data sources:
-L, --live-check
Check the configuration used by the running cluster
