Remove spaces from start of file names

Hi,
I want to be able to list all the names in a file which begin with a capital letter, but I don't want it to list words that begin a new sentence. Is there any way round this?

I got one simple TXT file with long file name with blank spaces in between the words. I am trying to display that full file name, but it breaks while displaying. Could somebody shed some light here?

Hi,
What's the best way to find all files under a directory - including ones with space - in order to apply a command to each of them. For instance I want get a list of files under a directory and generate a checksum for each file.
Here's the csh script:

please somebody tell me what is wrong with this, while the thumbnail grabbing works and encoding works, but what is not working is, mv $i.jpg /var/www/thumbs/ and mv $i.mp4 /var/www/uploads/

Is it possible to remove empty lines between >humid-sets (bold) and also humidset that start with -- (for ex: > humid3 | () : | (+) )

Note: The humid sets will be in thousands and lines will be more than 100 thousand.

Hi All,
I have a vexing issue with leading spaces in file names. Basically, we're moving tons of data from our ancient afp file share to Box.com and Box forbids leading spaces in files or folders. The HFS file system seems to be perfectly fine with this, but almost all other Unix file systems... (1 Reply)

I am running a UNIX script to get unused files and their sizes from the server. The issue is arising due to the spaces present in the filename/folder names.Due to this the du -k command doesn't work properly.But I need to calculate the size of all files including the ones which have spaces in them.... xhfs - graphical interface for manipulating HFS volumes SYNOPSIS
xhfs [left-path [right-path]] DESCRIPTION
xhfs presents a graphical front-end for browsing and copying files on HFS-formatted volumes. The display is divided into two parts, left and right, which can each independently view a directory on either an HFS volume or the host (UNIX) filesystem. Double-clicking the name of a directory in either view will open that directory. A pop-up menu at the top of each direc- tory view can be used to navigate to any directory between the current and the beginning of the hierarchy. Text files can be viewed by double-clicking them. Any file or set of files can be copied to the directory shown in the other view by selecting them and clicking the "Copy" button. Copying is performed according to the selected copy mode: MacBinary II The file(s) will be copied using the MacBinary II format. This is the recommended mode for transferring arbitrary Macintosh files. BinHex The file(s) will be copied using the BinHex format. This mode should be used to encode Macintosh files into strict ASCII format. Text In this mode, only the data fork(s) of the selected file(s) are copied. Furthermore, translation is performed on the data's end-of- line characters to conform to the standard for text files on the destination. Raw Data In this mode, only the data fork(s) of the selected file(s) are copied. However, no translation is performed whatsoever on the data.
