I'm currently working on a climatological dataset that uses unix-timestamp and a real date like 28/03/2004 02:45:00 h. in spring the unix-timestamp follows its continuos mode but in the column of the real date the time jumps one hour forward (e.g. from 1:59:59 to 3:00:00). i think this is... I'm trying to compare 2 dates between current time and the timestamp on a file.
The date format is mmdd
Both return Apr 1 but when using if statement
line 11: Apr 1: command not found error is returned

I have a data file where the timestamp is in the style of:
2016-10-11 07:01:23.375-500
which is yyyy-mm-dd hh-mm-ss-000 then time conversion from UTC
What i need to do is convert these timestamps from the above format to a the Serial Date format (i.e 42,654.2920446 )
