Time difference command in Sun sorlaris
Hi ,
I want to find out the time difference. If the system date and time is "Jul 18 05:39:00" EST then it should return "Jul 18 04:39:00". i.e one hour differnce in time. Pls help me out.
Other eg's : Jul 18 00:00:00 -> Jul 18 23:00:00
Jul 18 01:00:00 -> Jul 17 00:00:00

I am running SCO Openserver 5.07 on a Windows 2003 Server with VMware Server 1
If I run
# ps -ef|grep /etc/cron
the date that it shows the cron process started is older than the date I get from running the uptime command.

my output shold be diff between two dates i.e 0,1,2,3 date2 is always greater than date1.

-s Set the time (implicit for -q or a date string)
-u Print the date as GMT
-t Use this number of seconds instead of current time

DESCRIPTION
With the -q flag or a numeric argument, date sets the GMT time and date. MMDDYY refers to the month, day, and year; hhmmss refers to the

with the default format for the system. The -u flag request GMT time instead of local time. A format may be specified with a + followed
by a printf-like string with the following options:
