What's wrong my sed?

What am I doing wrong?

Trying to run a script as a different user (sudo userx inside the script) but after I call the script it just sits in memory until I <ctrl D>. If I do whoami before the <ctrl D> the system returns the userid that was invoked in the script. Is there any way to get around this behavior? TIA,... (3 Replies)

I have a line that gets pulled from a database that has a variable number of fields, fields can also be of a variable size. Same sed code prints(p) correct, but writtes(w) wrong output

Dear all, I am using sed as an alternative to grep in order to get a specific line from each of multiple files located in the same directory.
